As a an anti-poverty charity, Community Renewal Trust have become passionate campaigners against the high cost of funerals and funeral poverty
In 2018 we launched Caledonia Cremation to tackle funeral poverty by offering a simple dignified direct cremation plus wrap-around support for those across Scotland who were struggling to pay. By offering more choice, more flexibility and more advice we can help bring down funeral costs for everyone, whether rich or poor.

The service covers most of mainland Scotland: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Stirling, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Argyllshire, Clackmannanshire, Dumfries & Galloway, Ayrshire, Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire, Lothian, Highland, Inverclyde, Moray, Lanarkshire, Kinross, Scottish Borders and Fife.
The project to set up this new flagship social enterprise has been part funded by Scottish Government and European Social Fund with loan funding from Social Investment Scotland.
